Why we included this project
Java teams already living in the Spring ecosystem get a way to add AI to their services without standing up a separate stack. Spring AI provides Spring-style abstractions and strongly typed APIs for chat, embedding, and image models, and it handles the plumbing around structured outputs, tool calling, and vector-store-backed retrieval. Because it follows Spring's modular, portable design, model calls plug into existing services through the dependency-injection patterns developers already know, which makes it a natural companion to Spring Boot. The reference documentation and example projects give Java developers a concrete starting point for evaluating generative AI in a production Spring application.

dify
Build Agentic workflows, RAG pipelines, with rich AI model and tool support on one collaborative workspace. Deploy on cloud, VPC, or self-hosted, so teams move from prototype to production without rebuilding the stack.
headroom
Compress tool outputs, logs, files, and RAG chunks before they reach the LLM. 20% fewer tokens for coding agents, 60-95% fewer tokens for JSON, same answers. Library, proxy, MCP server.
