Why we included this project

Zhou Zhihua's Machine Learning, the textbook most people call the Watermelon Book, is a classic, but it leaves a lot of the derivations to the reader. This repository fills that gap with hand-written formula walk-throughs for all sixteen chapters, redrawing the math step by step so the book's denser results become much easier to follow. The notes line up with the book's chapter order, which makes them a solid companion for a structured study pass rather than a grab bag of cheat sheets. Students working through the text for a course, or self-learners who want to actually understand support vector machines or probabilistic graphical models, will get the most out of it. It is a learning resource rather than something you install and run, but for this particular textbook it is one of the most complete public note sets around.
