Why we included this project
The pain is familiar if your team runs several coding agents side by side: Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Copilot, each expecting skills in its own folder format. SkillKit treats those skills like installable packages, so you keep one copy and it adapts it for whichever agent needs it, covering 46 tools in total. It also draws on a registry of 400,000+ skills gathered from 31 sources, can recommend what fits your current stack, and exposes a REST API plus an MCP endpoint for agents that want to discover skills at runtime. Teams that value consistency can pin the skill set in a committable manifest, so every developer works from the same configuration. If you are tired of rewriting the same instructions for each tool, this is a sensible middle ground.
