Why we included this project

Marvin gives Python developers a small, ergonomic API for turning messy natural-language input into typed, validated data, and for wiring LLMs into multi-step workflows. Its structured-output utilities, extract, cast, classify, and generate, handle the common jobs like pulling numbers out of a sentence or sorting text into enum labels without hand-rolled JSON prompts. The 3.0 release folded in agentic control-flow primitives, tasks, agents, and threads, ported from ControlFlow, so you can go from quick data-shaping calls to orchestrating specialized agents that call tools and follow instructions. Teams building LLM features into ordinary Python applications will find it useful for everything from cleaning up user input to coordinating multi-agent pipelines, while keeping results type-safe and testable.
