Why we included this project
Running LLMs on your own hardware usually means juggling scripts and terminal output, and this project steps in with a full browser interface that talks to several local models at once. It handles model loading, conversation history, and serving everything through a clean web page, so switching between text and multimodal backends does not mean rebuilding your setup. For developers and hobbyists setting up a private single-user LLM station, the bundled launchers and model management make a comfortable starting point. Worth noting: the project is being replaced by the newer lollms core with multi-user and MCP support, but this repository still holds up as a solid reference for how a self-hosted multi-model web UI is put together.
