Why we included this project

Aide is a VSCode extension that bundles everyday AI coding chores into right-click actions, so you can get help without tabbing out to a browser. It converts a selected snippet between programming languages, drops explanatory comments over dense code, asks the model to rewrite a passage the way an expert would, and suggests better variable names with a short rationale. Two extras go beyond one-off edits: smart paste turns clipboard content, images included, into code, and a batch processor runs a single custom AI instruction across many files at once. That combination suits teams juggling mixed codebases or onboarding someone onto unfamiliar code, where language conversion and comment generation do most of the heavy lifting.
