Why we included this project

Building custom media players usually means reimplementing the same control bar for every project. Media Chrome gives you a set of native web components for playback controls that you drop into markup like any HTML tag and style with plain CSS. Because they are framework-agnostic custom elements, they work in React, Angular, Svelte, or vanilla projects, and they can drive the native video and audio elements or third-party players such as HLS.js and YouTube. The UI stays separate from the playback engine, so you can swap the underlying player without touching your control markup. Teams that want a consistent, on-brand player across multiple products will appreciate the component set and the React wrappers.
