Why we included this project
Putting live captions on a stream usually means wiring a speech-to-text service into a caption renderer and a chat bridge. Curses folds that whole pipeline into one Windows desktop app: it listens to your microphone, transcribes through Azure, Deepgram, or the browser's built-in speech API, and sends the text to OBS, VRChat's chatbox, Twitch chat, or Discord. The OBS captions are heavily customizable, with fonts, colors, animations, particle effects, and even Twitch emotes, plus a large Google Fonts library, and it can read chat messages back out loud with text-to-speech. Streamers who want accessible captions without maintaining a stack of separate tools will find the whole job handled in one place.
