Why we included this project

For anyone teaching themselves machine learning outside a classroom, this repository holds the lecture notes, slides, and problem sets from Stanford's CS229, the graduate course that many consider the classic entry point to the field. The materials are arranged for study rather than quick reference, which makes them most useful as a companion to the free YouTube lectures or when you want to work through the assignments on your own. The problem-set writeups go beyond solutions and include practical setup help, like getting a Conda environment running for the coding exercises, so actually finishing the homework is less of a chore. If you want a solid theoretical grounding in supervised learning, regularization, and the other core topics CS229 covers, this is a coherent, self-contained way to get it.
