Why we included this project
Artemis is built for universities that want interactive coursework at scale and prefer to run the platform on their own infrastructure. It handles the full loop: programming submissions are built, tested, and analyzed automatically, quizzes are graded on submission, and text or modeling exercises combine manual assessment with feedback suggestions. The same exercise types carry into online exams, with per-student variants, plagiarism checks, and structured student reviews, so coursework and examinations stay consistent. Adaptive learning features such as competencies and learning paths let courses respond to individual progress, and the AI support is framed as responsible assistance rather than a headline feature. If you are evaluating a self-hosted learning platform, the documentation and release cadence are worth checking before you commit.
