Why we included this project

This list captures one of the more eventful years in AI research as a browseable archive. Maintainer Louis Bouchard collected around three dozen standout papers from 2020, including YOLOv4, GPT-3, PULSE, and DeOldify, and paired each entry with a short video walkthrough, a plain-language article, the paper itself, and code where the authors released it. For a practitioner, the value is going from a headline to a reproducible implementation without spending an afternoon hunting down the original sources. It is a teaching resource rather than something you run: nothing here gets installed, but the collection is a solid way to survey what the state of the art looked like at that moment. Bouchard also keeps companion editions for other years plus a focused computer-vision list, so this works as an entry point into a wider set of curated research summaries.
