Why we included this project
LangChat targets Java teams that want a working AI knowledge base or chatbot without stitching the parts together themselves. The project bundles role-based access control, chat screens, and a knowledge-base workflow into one admin console, and it can reach a wide range of model providers, from OpenAI, Gemini, and Claude to DeepSeek, Alibaba Qwen, Zhipu, and locally hosted Ollama. For a Java shop that would rather deploy something into its existing stack than wire LangChain4j components by hand, that combination is the main draw. Teams scoping an internal Q&A assistant or a customer-facing AI service get a fairly complete product skeleton here, and a commercial edition exists for when the open version stops being enough.
