Why we included this project

Researchers and graduate students following the autonomous-agent literature will find this a useful reading list. It splits recent work into two threads that are usually covered separately: RL-based agents and LLM-based agents, and it leaves out the traditional RL research that doesn't fit the agent framing. The maintainer has classified papers into topical subsections like instruction following, world-model-based agents, and language-as-knowledge, and added a dedicated survey section. Papers accepted at ICML, ICLR, and NeurIPS are tracked with links to project pages and code where available, which is handy when you want to go from a paper to its code. The list is actively maintained and takes contributions through issues, so new papers keep getting added.
