OpenKnowledge is a full WYSIWYG markdown editor that makes editing markdown files feel closer to Notion or Google Docs than to a code editor. It connects to Claude, Codex, and similar agent harnesses for side-by-side AI editing, and it comes with MCP support, skills, and agentic search built in, so the agents you already use can read and write against the same files you do. Team sharing and sync are handled by git under the hood, which keeps everything local and free while still letting a group collaborate. For teams that keep their knowledge in markdown or want a local second brain that AI tools can actually reach, this is a practical middle ground between a Notion-style wiki and the command-line workflow agents already run.
