Why we included this project
Applio turns an existing recording into someone else's voice using the RVC pipeline, all behind a Gradio interface you launch locally with a couple of scripts. There's no need to write code or handle PyTorch directly: load a voice model, drop in an audio file, and get a converted result. The same setup also handles training a custom voice on your own dataset, and plugins plus configuration options let teams adapt the behavior to their projects. It runs on Windows, Linux, and macOS, with Colab notebooks and a hosted playground for quick trials without a local install. The project is mature and stable; development now focuses on security patches and dependency updates rather than new features, which is a reasonable trade-off if you need a dependable tool rather than a fast-moving one.
