Why we included this project

SurveyX is for researchers who have a stack of papers and need a usable first draft of a domain survey. You feed it a title, some keywords, and a folder of markdown references; it runs an off-the-shelf LLM through a staged pipeline that drafts an outline, fills in sections, refines them, and finally hands back LaTeX sources and a compiled PDF. The open-source fork is upfront about what it leaves out: no web crawling, no keyword expansion, and no image parsing, so the reference material has to come from you as plain markdown text. That constraint points it at people who already have a curated bibliography and would rather offload the writing and structuring than the searching. Because the output is real LaTeX rather than a chat reply, it slots cleanly into an existing publishing workflow.
