Why we included this project
CodexDesktop-Rebuild wraps OpenAI's Codex CLI in an Electron shell, so you get a native desktop app instead of a terminal session. The project ships installers for macOS, Windows, and Linux, and the build scripts are plain npm commands you can run yourself if you want to reproduce the packaging or tweak it. CI builds on every push and on version tags, which keeps the release pipeline simple. If you prefer a dedicated window for the Codex coding agent over typing in a terminal, this is a straightforward way to get it.
