Why we included this project

This is the official Google Cloud repository for learning how Gemini and Vertex AI fit together. The notebooks and example apps cover the range of building with these models: running your first Gemini call, function calling, retrieval-augmented generation, grounding, and agent workflows. Folders are grouped by capability, so you can jump straight to the topic you need, whether that is enterprise search, RAG grounding, or generating media with Imagen and Veo. Because the samples are maintained alongside the platform, they tend to track current model versions and API changes, which makes them a dependable reference when you port examples into your own Vertex AI projects. It is a learning and reference resource rather than a deployable product, so treat it as a companion to the official documentation while you prototype on Google Cloud.
