Why we included this project
Spec Kit starts from a premise that sounds obvious but is easy to skip: you decide what to build and why before the agent writes any code. You describe the intent, and the agent turns that into a technical plan, a task list, and the implementation itself. The workflow is available as slash commands inside 30+ coding agents, so teams can adopt it without switching tools, and it can be reshaped with presets, extensions, or role-based bundles to fit how you work. For anyone who has watched an agent produce confident but off-target code, this is a practical way to add structure, reviewability, and documentation to AI-assisted development.
