Why we included this project

MindOS is a local-first Markdown knowledge base that gives your AI agents a shared memory. It runs on your machine and serves your notes, SOPs, and reviewed decisions to any MCP-capable agent through a built-in server, so you stop re-explaining your project and preferences in every new session. The desktop and web workbench is where you browse, edit, and import documents, while the CLI and packaged skills handle wiring agents up and verifying they can actually reach the knowledge base. Since everything stays as local plain text, you keep ownership and can audit exactly what context agents are reading. That makes it a good fit for individuals and small teams who want a transparent, controllable memory layer across several agents rather than being locked into one assistant.
