Why we included this project

Claude's default presentation style is design-forward, which is the wrong starting point for academic work. This skill replaces it with communication-first standards: slide titles become complete sentences that state the takeaway, the deck is built as a logical argument rather than a stack of independent slides, and each results slide gets a single annotated exhibit. It also covers the academic conventions that slip under deadline pressure, like in-text citations on borrowed figures, a closing References slide, and a Conclusions slide that stays on screen during Q&A instead of a "Thank You" page. The skill works alongside Anthropic's built-in PPTX skill, which handles the actual file generation, so the content discipline carries through to the final output. If you regularly produce conference talks, thesis defenses, or grant briefings, you do not have to re-explain these standards to Claude each time.
