Why we included this project
People who work across Cursor, Windsurf, Zed, and Claude Code know the pain of keeping the same AI prompts and rules in sync everywhere. vibe-rules is a command-line tool that stores your reusable rules in one shared local folder and pushes them into whichever editor you're using, adapting the formatting for each tool's config file. It can also pull shared prompts from the npm packages already installed in a project, so teams can version and ship coding rules just like dependencies. That makes it handy for solo developers switching editors often and for small teams that want every machine to prompt the same way.
