Why we included this project
Paperlib grew out of a computer science PhD student's daily frustration: conference papers from venues like NeurIPS and ICLR rarely carry DOIs, so every citation meant another trip to Google Scholar or DBLP. The tool concentrates on that core problem, scraping bibliographic metadata from many databases and letting you keep the results organized with tags, flags, folders, and notes. Full-text and advanced search are part of the package, as are RSS feeds that track new papers in your field. A Spotlight-style plugin pastes a formatted citation straight into whatever you're writing. It's a lightweight desktop app for people who find Zotero bloated and would rather trust a metadata scraper than a plugin ecosystem.
