Why we included this project

This is the reading list that accompanies a survey of large language model-based agents for software engineering, and it does the useful work of turning a dense academic paper into something you can actually browse. The maintainers have gathered more than a hundred papers and sorted them two ways: by the software engineering task they address, from requirements and code generation through testing, debugging, and repair, and by the agent architecture behind them, such as planning, memory, perception, and multi-agent collaboration. That double organization means you can go straight to the slice you care about, whether you are studying agent frameworks or hunting for prior work on a specific SE problem. Since the field moves fast and the list is kept current, it also serves as a low-effort way to keep up with new publications without running your own literature search. Researchers, graduate students, and engineers scoping an agent-based SE project will find it a solid starting point for related work.
