Why we included this project
FinceptTerminal is a desktop finance workstation that offers Bloomberg-style market analytics without the subscription cost. It is a native C++20/Qt6 application with embedded Python, and it bundles a wide range of quant tools: DCF models, portfolio optimization, VaR and Sharpe risk metrics, and derivatives pricing. On the data side it ships with more than 100 connectors covering FRED, IMF, World Bank, Yahoo Finance, and crypto exchanges, plus live trading hooks for 16 brokers and a paper-trading engine. The built-in AI agents and quant lab are a real help for research workflows, but the project now updates monthly rather than daily and the team has shifted focus to a commercial edition and a new project called Quantcept, so treat the open-source repo as a stable reference and learning base rather than a fast-moving dependency. For teams that want a self-hosted research workstation, the breadth of connectors and quant modules justifies the setup effort.
