Why we included this project
Finding an LLM you are actually allowed to run in a commercial product takes real digging, and this list shortcuts that work. It is a hand-curated table of open models whose licenses permit commercial use, with each row linking to checkpoints, papers, parameter sizes, context lengths, and hosted demos where they exist. Because every entry has been vetted for a permissive license, you can compare dozens of models from different generations and architectures in one sitting instead of hopping between separate repos. The release dates and license column also make it easy to tell older, dependable options apart from newer ones, which helps teams picking a first LLM for a product or coming back to the field after a gap.
