Why we included this project
When your note vault grows past what folders and backlinks can hold together, this Obsidian plugin turns your own notes into a searchable knowledge base that matches meaning instead of keywords. A local embedding model indexes the vault quietly, and while you write it surfaces related notes and excerpts in a graph and list view, so forgotten research tends to resurface at the moment it becomes relevant. There is no API key and no separate service to run, which matters for people who work offline or on mobile and would rather not ship their notes to a cloud vendor. Install it and keep writing. The Lookup view adds on-demand semantic search across a personal archive, and anyone with hundreds or thousands of accumulated notes is the natural audience.
