Why we included this project
Squad treats AI coding assistance as a team rather than a single chat window. You describe the project and it creates specialist agents, say frontend, backend, tester, and lead, each with its own context and its own notes that get written back into the repo. That persistence means the agents keep what they learned between sessions, which is useful for developers and small teams that want parallel work without losing sight of what's happening. The humans still set priorities, approve changes, and own the final result; the tool just handles coordination and repetition on top of GitHub Copilot. It's clearly labeled alpha, so check the changelog before depending on it, but the model of inspectable agent work is a welcome change from a black-box assistant.
