Why we included this project

Anyone who already keeps notes, tasks, and documents inside Anytype will see the point of this server right away. It converts Anytype's OpenAPI spec into MCP tools, so assistants in Claude Desktop, Cursor, or LM Studio can search your spaces, pull up existing objects, and reorganize lists, tags, and types by asking in plain language instead of doing it in the app. Setup is genuinely fast: generate an API key inside Anytype, paste the server config into your MCP client, and the natural-language tools come online. Because the underlying data stays encrypted and local, you keep that security model rather than routing your wiki through a hosted middleman. The example interactions walk through genuine workflows, like creating a space, adding a task with a due date, then collecting items into a list, which lines up with how anyone actually manages a knowledge base day to day.
