Why we included this project

FluidVoice is for Mac users who want dictation without sending their voice to a server. Speech is transcribed on-device, and a custom-trained model then cleans up punctuation, formatting, and phrasing locally, so raw audio never leaves your machine. That makes it a practical open-source alternative to paid dictation subscriptions, especially for writers, developers, and anyone who works offline or just doesn't trust cloud microphones. Installation is a single Homebrew cask command, and you can switch between engines like Parakeet and Whisper to suit your language and hardware. It's macOS-only for now, with iOS and Windows promised, but the current experience is fast enough that most people won't miss the paid tiers.
