Why we included this project

AbletonMCP is for people who make music in Ableton Live and want Claude to do more than talk about their session. It pairs a Python MCP server with a MIDI Remote Script that runs inside Live, so the model can create and edit MIDI and audio tracks, pull instruments and effects from your library, write clips, and lay out whole song sections in Arrangement View. Describe a track structure in plain language and the DAW responds by placing clips, firing them, and moving transport across both Session and Arrangement views. That makes it a practical tool for prototyping arrangements quickly or trying prompt-driven composition without leaving your DAW. Setup means installing the remote script and server with uv and pointing Claude Desktop at it; you'll need Ableton Live 10 or newer and a local setup you're comfortable with, so it suits producers who already know their way around Live more than complete beginners.
