Why we included this project

Rust developers who want LangChain's composable workflow without running Python finally have a proper port to choose from. This implementation of LangChain provides a typed Rust API for OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Ollama, and Anthropic Claude, alongside embeddings, document loaders, and vector-store backends like Qdrant, Postgres, OpenSearch, and SQLite. With those pieces you can assemble retrieval and Q&A pipelines, and the crate also bundles chains for conversational and SQL flows, tool-using agents, and semantic routing, so a single dependency covers a whole prototype. It ships on crates.io with runnable examples and a tutorial, which makes it easy for a small team to judge whether the ergonomics fit their codebase. Teams that want Rust's performance and safety without giving up the LangChain-style workflow will find a practical middle ground here.
