Why we included this project
With a difficult paper, the reading is rarely the slow part; the slow part is turning what you understood into a note you can still use months later. DeepPaperNote is an agent skill aimed at that step: give it a paper by title, DOI, URL, arXiv ID, or a local PDF, and it produces an Obsidian-style note that keeps the research question, method, results, and figures, with evidence and limitations worked into the structure. It favors honest deep reading over polished summaries, and it would rather ask for better source material than present a thin pass as a complete note. Anyone who keeps their literature in Obsidian or Zotero, such as researchers, grad students, or technical writers, will get the most from it, since the output is meant to be a durable, searchable page in a growing personal knowledge base that later agents or collaborators can reuse. The same core skill runs inside Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot, and Gemini CLI.
